    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a racquet capable of imparting more spin to a ball.SOLUTION: A racquet includes a frame having a head portion coupled to a handle portion, and a string bed of interlaced cross and main string segments. The head portion includes a hoop having inner and outer peripheral walls. The hoop defines a head size having a maximum longitudinal and transverse dimensions, a and b, respectively. The dimension a is at least 1.2 times longer than the dimension b. The inner peripheral wall includes string holes. Each of the cross segments transversely extends from one of the string holes to another, and each of the main segments longitudinally extends from one of the string holes to another. The cross segment closest to the handle portion and the end point of a segment of the longitudinal dimension a, on a the handle portion side, define a second longitudinal dimension c. The ratio of the dimension a to the dimension c is at least 6.5. The string bed has at least one more main segment than cross segment.

The deformation structure includes: projected curved lines whose extension is made to be the maximum, in the frame part of the warp and weft with the minimum grid density in the vertical and horizontal directions of the face frame; and curved lines to be extended in a recessed shape in the middle and divided parts of the maximum adjacent projected shapes.     • PURPOSE:To provide the racket frame for tennis which substantially prevents a tennis elbow by specifying the compressive rigidity in a vertical string extension direction and cross string extension direction to specific values or above. CONSTITUTION:The width of the frame string extension part 11 of the racket frame 10 is continuously changed to suppress the cause of distortion. Namely, the parts of a frame top A and yoke center part D where the distortion is liable to appear largest when the vertical strings G1 and the cross strings G2 are extended to attain 3:1 tension ratio are formed to the max. width. A side upper part B and side lower part C are then formed next broadest. The part P, Q, R where the deformation is most hardly induced are formed in a thin direction so that the compressive rigidity in the vertical strong extension direction and the cross string extension direction should be >=330N/mm and >=60N/mm, respectively. As a result, the distortion is hardly caused in the frame string extension part of the racket frame even if the vertical and cross strings are so extended as to be 3:1.
