    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack shaft support device that suppresses generation of noise for a long period by absorbing engagement variation.SOLUTION: A support member 20 supporting a support yoke 18 is born by an intermediate member 21. As the support yoke 18 wears away, a torque energizing spring rotates the intermediate member 21. A cam mechanism 24 formed at a confrontation part between the intermediate member 21 and support member 20 drives the support member 20 toward the support yoke 18. A set length restriction mechanism 30 which restricts a set length L1 of a disk spring 29 (compression spring) includes a recessed part 44 of a rear surface 18b (first surface) of the support yoke 18 and a projection shaft 45 fixed to a front surface 20a (second surface) of the support member 20. A nut 46 (receiving member) which receives a spring seat 28 abuts against a positioning step part 50 of a tip part 45b of the projection shaft 45.
