    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for providing a public-key encryption system. SOLUTION: Isogenies of Abelian varieties (e.g., elliptic curves in one-dimensional cases) are utilized to provide the public-key encryption system. The isogenies permit the use of multiple curves instead of a single curve to provide more secure encryption. The technique can be applied to digital signatures and/or identity based encryption (IBE) solutions. Furthermore, the isogenies can be used in other applications such as blind signatures, hierarchical systems. In a public-key encryption method 100, public key encryption using isogenies is indicated. The isogenies are generated in a stage 102, and the public key generated by using the isogenies is disclosed in a stage 104.
