    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the processing for a through-hole or the like for grounding and to relax the positioning accuracy of the circuit pattern by using a converting circuit having nearly a short-circuit characteristic so as to constitute a DC feedback circuit and an intermediate frequency signal grounding circuit. CONSTITUTION:A ridge converter 48 is connected to a receiving signal input section of a mixer circuit 40 constituted on a dielectric board. The ridge converter 48 is grounded in terms of DC and functions as a DC grounding circuit at the high frequency side of a mixer diode 44. Further, when the electric length between a point 4-a fitted to a mixer diode terminal and a point 4-b fitted to the ridge converter is taken as nearly an integral number of a 1/2-wavelength of an intermediate frequency signal, the impedance when viewed from the mixer diode terminal 4-a to the ridge converter side is nearly a short-circuit impedance and the converter also acts like an intermediate frequency signal grounding circuit. The DC feedback circuit and the intermediate frequency signal grounding circuit are used in place of a waveguide strip converter in this way, the processing for a through-hole or the like for grounding is not required and the positioning accuracy of the circuit pattern is relaxed.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a frequency converter suited to transmission/reception of satellite broadcast by providing a circular waveguide having the HPF characteristics, having a shift between the axes of the circular waveguide and a rectangular waveguide and therefore satisfying the characteristics for both image suppression and prevention of the local oscillation leakage. CONSTITUTION:The signal sent from a broadcast satellite is supplied to a circular waveguide 12 through an input flange 11 and then converted into a rectangular mode by a circular/rectangular waveguide converting part 13. This rectangular mode is transmitted to a rectangular waveguide 14. Then the signal is supplied to a microwave integrated circuit MIC16 via a rectangular waveguide/microstrip line converting part 15. The axes of the waveguide 12 and 14 are set at the part 13 with a shift obtained between both axes in the short side direction of the waveguide 14. Thus it is possible to satisfy the characteristics for both image suppression and prevention for leakage of local oscillation. Then the desired signal processing is carried out through the MIC16, and the IF signal is delivered to an output terminal 19.
