    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize a local oscillating circuit by forming a resonator made of a ferrodielectric, an FET and an oscillating element such as a diode on a semiconductor substrate. CONSTITUTION:The dielectric resonator 3 made of a ferrodielectric thin film and th FET2 as the oscillating element are formed on the semiconductor substrate 1. The resonator 3 is coupled with a strip line 5 connected to a drain 4 of the FET2 by a magnetic field to stabilize its oscillating frequency. Further, a capatitance element 6 is connected between the drain and gate of the FET2. Since the ferrodielectric thin film is used in this way, the resonator with a comparatively small area is formed. Thus, the local oscillating circuit is miniaturized.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a single-power-source and positive voltage type simple oscillator by providing the earth electrode of an oscillating element at the other terminal of a quarter-wavelength line of oscillation frequency whose front end is opened. CONSTITUTION:A drain terminal 1 is used as the earth electrode and connected to a positive voltage VD. The quarter-wavelength line 6 is the earth electrode which is opened at the front end and grounded at the other end is a sectorial quarter-wavelength line, and the radius of the sectorial part is a quarter as large as the oscillation frequency. The capacity C of this equivalent circuit depends upon the line and the capacity C is short-circuited on microwave basis to obtain excellent oscillation characteristics over + or -10% of a designed frequency.
