    • PURPOSE:To provide a large-capacity X-ray tube which has a high load capacity as well as a high heat capacity and in which any crack breakdowns are prevented by increasing the mechanical strength of a rotor shaft which supports a target producing X-rays. CONSTITUTION:A surface intensified film 8 of over 10mum thickness formed by subjecting a highly heat-resisting metal such as tungsten to flame coating, is provided over the entire outer peripheral surface of a rotor shaft 3b. Here, the film 8 is formed by melting tungsten by plasmas before molten tungsten is sprayed over the outer peripheral surface of the rotor shaft 3b at high air pressure. According to such constitution, numberless cuts formed on the outer peripheral surface of the rotor shaft 3b are completely filled and the rotor shaft 3b entirely coated with the film 8 made of tungsten. As a result, concentrated stress developing in the cuts is alleviated, and any crack breakdowns can be positively prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a friction amount between a collector element and a brush by manufacturing the collector element of glassy carbon.
      SOLUTION: A collector ring 10 has a shape of a cylinder. Three brush-holding springs 16 are fixed to the inside of a brush-holding ring 14 with screws 18, and the brushes 12 are fixed to tips of the springs. The brushes 12 are pressed to the external peripheral surface of the collector ring 10 by resilient restoration forces of the brush-holding springs 16. When the collector ring 10 rotates, the brushes 12 slide on and contact the external peripheral surface of the collector ring 10 with. The brush 12 is formed of metal graphite composed of copper of 70 wt% and graphite of 30 wt%. The collector ring 10 is formed of the glassy carbon as a whole. By forming the collector ring 10 of the glassy carbon, the friction amount of the brush in contact with the collector ring is reduced, and the rotating collector of less dust generation and long life is obtained.
