    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge tube capable of carrying out a stable discharge, even when the external environment is changed, by improving the insulating properties between discharge electrodes.
      SOLUTION: The discharge tube is provided with a pair of electrodes opposed to each other with a discharge space in-between, an airtight cylinder with the pair of electrodes arranged at either end and zoning the discharge space. By using the discharge tube, having a coating film with water permeation resistance formed on the surface of the airtight cylinder, electrical insulation between the discharge electrodes is improved and a stable discharge is made possible, even when the external environment is changed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a discharge tube to have a longer service life and to generate stable discharge, where the discharge tube repeats to generate the discharge between the discharge surface of an upper discharge electrode tip and the discharge surface of a lower discharge electrode tip, which face each other at the center in an airtight tube.
      SOLUTION: The discharge tube comprises an airtight tube 10A, lid bodies 26, 28 bonded to a metallized surface 40 in the airtight tube 10A, and trigger lines 60, 80 formed on the inner wall surface of the airtight tube 10A so as to extend along the axial direction (Y1, Y2 directions). A discharge gap 29 is formed between first and second discharge electrodes 22, 24 formed on the lid bodies 26, 28, respectively. Trigger lines are composed of sub discharge trigger lines 60 connected to the metallized surface 40 and main discharge trigger lines 80 insulated from the metallized surface 40, where a plurality of the main discharge trigger lines 80 are formed on the inner wall surface of the airtight tube 10A at the same pitch (W), and the sub discharge trigger lines 60 are formed between a pair of the second trigger lines 80 adjacent to each other respectively.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double chamber system having filled gas in one chamber and vacuum pressure in the other chamber, offering a means for performing burn-in of one or more vacuum tubes while avoiding contamination due to gas in environment.
      SOLUTION: The vacuum tube 101 is burnt in before sealed. A burn-in process requires few days and gives such a sufficient opportunity that gas in environment contaminates the vacuum tube. A filling tube 103 of the vacuum tube enters through the vacuum chamber into the filled gas chamber. The gas in environment passing through the filling tube and leaking into the vacuum chamber is exhausted by vacuum pressure. Similarly, filled gas passing through the filling tube and leaking from the filled gas chamber into the vacuum chamber is also exhausted by vacuum pressure. In this way, the gas in environment is sucked and removed before contaminating the vacuum tube.
