    • A circuit breaker that includes an overcurrent release device, adapted for automatic assembly, with a thermal electromagnetic trip unit is provided which prevents a metallic melt produced by a short circuit interruption from adhering to an opening and closing mechanism or the overcurrent release device. The circuit breaker comprises a middle housing (2), a lower housing and an upper housing; the middle housing (2) accommodates an opening and closing mechanism (51), and an overcurrent release device (52) that detects an overcurrent, to cause the opening and closing mechanism (51) to move pivotally; the lower housing (3) accommodates a circuit interrupting mechanism including an arc extinguisher that interrupts an arc generated between a movable contact arm (13) provided to a crossbar (12) that moves pivotally in an interlocking relation with the opening and closing mechanism (51) and a stationary contact arm (9) that repeats making contact with and moving apart from the movable contact arm (13); and the upper housing covers the middle housing (2), the lower housing and components accommodated within the middle housing (2); wherein the circuit interrupting mechanism (51) is covered by the middle housing (2), and the overcurrent release device (52) is accommodated in the middle housing (2) by press-fitting the release device (52).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC circuit breaker that can achieve high DC breaking capacity, size reduction, improvement in safety, quietness, and high contact reliability.SOLUTION: The DC circuit breaker comprises a fixed terminal 42 provided with a fixed contact point 42a, a movable contact 44 provided with a movable contact 45, a shaft 46 inserted through the movable contact, a sealing container 40 that holds the fixed terminal and stores the movable contact and the shaft in a hermetically sealed state, a contact pressure spring 410 that gives a contact pressure between the movable contact point and the fixed contact point, a return spring 411 that biases the shaft in a direction away from the fixed contact point, an operation handle 1, a shaft pressing piece 56 that presses the other end of a body of the shaft according to the operation of the operation handle to draw the shaft to come closer to the fixed contact point, and an electromagnetic removing block 6 that opens the movable contact point and the fixed contact point by separating a pressing means from the other end of the body of the shaft in the case where an abnormal current flows through the movable contact point and the fixed contact point which are closed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve current-limiting performance by securing withstand voltage performance between a moving contact and a fixed contact.
      SOLUTION: This circuit breaker is provided with: a fixed contact 5; a moving contact 3 opening/closing with respect to the fixed contact 5; and a pair of magnetic bodies 10 having the fixed contact 5 and the moving contact 3 incorporated therein, and movably arranged in a direction relatively approaching both sides of an opening/closing space 53ps permitting the opening/closing operations of the moving contact 3. The circuit breaker is structured such that, when a breaking current at which the moving contact 3 executes a breaking operation is set above a predetermined value, both the magnetic bodies 10 move in mutually-approaching directions by electromagnetic attraction force acting between both the magnetic bodies 10 to narrow the opening/closing space 53a in a range permitting the opening/closing operations of the moving contact 3; and when the breaking current is reduced by a current-limiting operation and the electromagnetic attraction force is reduced, both the magnetic bodies 10 are restored to the original positions thereof.
