      SOLUTION: The compound operation type input device 1 includes an operating unit 2 in which a rotating axle 4 is integrated, a plurality of permanent magnets 3 installed in the operating unit 2 at equal intervals along the peripheral direction, a frame 5 which axially supports the rotating axle 4, a slider 6 which axially supports the rocking axle 5a of the frame 5, a holder 7 which supports the slider 6 capable of vertical movement, a cam member 9 which is fixed to the rotating axle 4, a steel ball 10 which is engaged or detached from the cam member 9 at the time of rotation operation and holds the operating unit 2 at non-operation in an intermittent rotation position, a magnetoresistive element 13 which detects the magnetic field strength of the permanent magnet 3, and a judgement part 18 or the like to judge the operation state of the operating unit 2 based on the output signal of the magnetic resistive element 13. The operating unit 2 can perform freely a rotation operation, pressing operation, and rocking operation, and the signal corresponding to each operation is detected by the magnetoresistive element 13.
