    • PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording material having lesser fluctuation of regenerative signals regardless of non-uniformity of the thickness of heat insulation layer by providing a laminate film as a heat insulation layer made of a resin having a heat conductivity smaller than a base plate and less than a given value of refractive index difference with the base plate on a base plate. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulation layer 2 consisting of a base plate 1 and a resin havibg a refractive index of less than a given value in the refractive index difference with the base plate and having a smaller heat conductivity than the material of the base plate is laminated on the base plate 1. A recording layer 3 into which information signal is written and recorded is provided on the heat insulation layer 2 to obtain a desired optical recording material. The base plate 1 used is glass plate, for example, and the heat insulation layer 2 used is made of various resins (e.g., methyl methacrylate resin, etc.).
