    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, after fitting to a chassis a spindle motor unit, a first guide shaft and a second guide shaft, which are all separate parts, a skew in a tangential direction is so adjusted as to make a rotational shaft of a spindle motor orthogonal to a running face of an optical pickup device, resulting in a need for skew adjusting components and a troublesome skew adjusting step.SOLUTION: A spindle motor unit is provided with fixed parts for a first guide shaft and a second guide shaft to be fixed subsequently and, by using an adjusting jig which is provided with an alignment supporting jig matching shapes of the first guide shaft and the second guide shaft and whose reference face is parallel to a running face of an optical pickup device determined by the two guide shafts, the alignment supporting jig is brought into contact with the fixed parts to so adjust a rotational shaft of a turntable of a spindle motor as to be orthogonal to the reference face. Also, a spindle motor unit adjusted in this manner is provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the radial position of an optical pickup by detecting a collision state regardless of whether a rotor stops or rotates in the collision state, without using any position detecting means.SOLUTION: A stepping motor driving circuit includes: a control signal generating circuit to generate control signals for supplying driving currents during energized periods with a de-energized period therebetween; output circuits to supply the driving currents to the driving coils in response to the control signals; an induced voltage detecting circuit to compare a voltage generated in the driving coils with a threshold voltage during the de-energized period, to detect an induced voltage; a threshold voltage setting circuit to set the threshold voltage; and a determining circuit to determine whether an optical pickup is in a collision state, on the basis of a result of the detection in the induced voltage detecting circuit. The threshold voltage is set at a voltage between a voltage generated in the driving coils during the de-energized period when a rotor of the stepping motor stops or rotates in the collision state, and a voltage generated in the driving coils during the de-energized period when not in the collision state.
