    • PURPOSE:To decrease the gap interval extremely and to make outer and inner peripheral tracks nearly equal in pitch by constituting the 2nd core half bodies of a recording ad playback head and awn erasing head by using magnetic thin films formed at both sides of an intermediate nonmagnetic thin plate. CONSTITUTION:The recording and playback head 31 consists of the 1st core half body 35 and the 2nd core half body 36, and the erasing head 32 is composed of the 1st core half body 41 and the 2nd core half body 42, which are joined together with glass, etc., across the nonmagnetic thin plate 33. The 2nd core half bodies 36 and 42 are formed at both sides of the thin plate 33 during manufacture, and gap spacers 37 and 43 are vapor-deposited thereupon. For the purpose, those layers are handled as one thin plate member and the 1st core half bodies 35 and 41 are joined therewith the constitute the head. Consequently, the gap interval between both heads is made extremely small, so inner and outer tracks are nearly equalized in pitch.

In a figure, 12 is the distribution of the produced magnetic field. Then, magnetism shown by 21 is left on the medium. The erasing head erases both sides of a recorded track for trimming. The gap 19 of the erasing head is opposite in direction to the gap 18 of the recording and reproducing head in the gap depth direction, so magnetic flux originating from magnetism in a direction 21 is made insensible. Therefore, the erasure crosstalk is made less in an off-track state than that of a conventional head.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the production cost of a magnetic head satisfying ordinary functions and having an extremely simple constitution by forming upside-down U-shaped erasing gaps connected to a recording/reproducing gap on both sides of the latter gap and using a coil as a recording/reproducing coil and an erasing coil in common. CONSTITUTION:In the gap part 23, a part 11 is the recording/reproducing gap, parts 12, 13 are erasing gaps and the angle of these gaps is 45 deg.. The coil 22 is used as a recording/reproducing coil and an erasing coil in common. The figure (a) shows the n-th recorded track 31 and the (n+1)th recorded track 32. A part 33 shows the direction of the gap of a head and becomes the azimuth of a recording pattern as it is. A relative position when the recorded disk is inserted into another device is shown in (b). Namely, the head is shifted to the (n+1)th track side. In this invention, the relative angle of azimuth between the width part 36 recorded in the figure (a) and the width part 36 of the head gap to be reproduced in the figure (b) is about 90 deg. and the part 36 is not reproduced. Therefore, the noises of an adjacent track are not mixed into an off track included within allowance.

CONSTITUTION:An I-bar of an erasing core is constituted of a high magnetic permeability thin film instead of a bulk material, and a high magnetic permeability thin film 15 is formed to about 1mum-50mum film thickness by means of spattering, vapor-deposition, etc. on a non-magnetic supporting body 13. According to such a constitution, it can be considered that the I-bar of the erasing core does not exist, therefore, even if a distance between a recording and reproducing gap and an erasing gap becomes small, there is room for placing a head core, and a saturation magnetization of the high magnetic permeability thin film 15 is remarkably larger than a saturation magnetization of ferrite, therefore, a recording medium of a high coercive force can also be erased exactly, the erasing capacity is also high, and also it can cope enough with converting a disk to a small diameter.

    • PURPOSE:To execute easily working and to realize a low cost a head which is not inferior in respect of its performance by providing in front an erasing head having a track width of one track pitch, and placing a recording and reproducing head whose width is narrower than said width, at a rear side. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head is constituted of an erasing head A and a recording and reproducing head B, the erasing head A is placed in front with respect to a medium running direction, and its track width is set so as to correspond to about one track pitch. Also, the recording and reproducing head B is set so that its width is narrower than that of the head A, and placed at the rear side. Accordingly, when rewriting a data, it is written by the head B after erasing completely the previous information by the erasing head A, therefore, a residual noise can be eliminated entirely. Also, three cores are not combined as before, and working of a wide width is executed, therefore, working can be executed easily. According, the head which is not inferior in respect of its performance can be formed at a low cost.

The thickness of the nonmagnetic substance 20 is nearly 200-300 microns and nearly 700 microns near a gap. Through the constitution, a magnetic field required for the magnetization of the recording medium having several hundred Oersteds of coercive force is generated at the gap. The lamination of each magnetic head is not required thereby reducing the cost, and the clearance between the recording/reproducing gap and the reasing gap is controlled in the order of several microns.
