    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve enhancement of processing performance between a host computer and a medium processing device.SOLUTION: A medium processing device comprises: a medium drive for executing data write-processing on one surface of a medium; a label printer for executing print processing on the other surface of the medium; a medium stacker for accommodating the medium; and a conveying arm for conveying the medium to any one of the medium drive, the label printer and the medium stacker according to a control command transmitted from a host computer. A control method of the medium processing device includes: an execution step, ST11, for starting execution of a plurality of control commands according to a processing start command; a determination step, ST12, for determining whether or not all control commands are normally executed; and a transmission step, ST15, for transmitting a normal termination notice as a response to a processing termination command transmitted together with the processing start command in a case where the all control commands are determined to be normally executed in the determination step, ST12.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect one last medium stored in a media storing part.
      SOLUTION: A conveyance arm is descended toward a media stacker, the conveyance arm is stopped once when a media detection mechanism detects a medium and the media detection mechanism stores a position in which the medium is not detected while the conveyance arm is made to rise as a media height. The conveyance arm is descended again, holds media and is made to rise and then the media height is compared with the height of a threshold. When the media height is lower than the height of the threshold, the number of remaining media in the media stacker is determined to be zero.
