摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system that combines transferring and fixing steps of a dry-type electrophotographic printer into one step to make an electric field for transfer unnecessary.SOLUTION: An image is transfer-fixed directly from a photoconductor 16 to a paper 24 or other suitable substrate. During this step, appropriate pressure is applied according to a type of substrate and a type of toner to allow the toner to be fixed on the paper under cold pressure. The cold-pressure transfer-fixing can be performed directly from a photoreceptor without an intermediate transfer belt (ITB). Therefore all electrostatic transfer subsystems and fixing operations can be eliminated. Alternatively, in the case of an engine with the intermediate transfer belt (ITB), the cold-pressure transfer-fixing is replaceable with second transferring and fixing systems needed.

Namely, the control part 15 has, for example, a microcomputer and each set heating temperature information on both rolls 7 and 9 is memorized; when the actual temperature of the heat roll 7 deviates from set temperature, an electric power supplied to the heater 7A is turned on and off and the control part 15 where the set heating temperature of the other roll 9 is stored supplies a control signal corresponding to the temperature information on the roll 7 to the switch circuit part 17 to control power supply to the heater 9A.

摘要： An image transfer mechanism includes a pressure element and a lever system. The lever system has a load attachment point with a range of position that depends on the thickness of a print medium positioned between the imaging element and the pressure element. A load mechanism includes a load connector with a distal end attached to the lever system load attachment point so that displacement of the lever system attachment point causes longitudinal movement of the load connector. The load mechanism applies a load that is substantially constant throughout the range of position of the lever system load attachment point. The load mechanism includes a spring and a crank attached to the spring and to the proximal end of the load connector. The crank is configured so that a change in the spring force produces a lesser change in the load force at the distal end of the load connector.

SOLUTION: A spring 38 is mounted at a spring mounting part 36 in a crank 32 having a crank pivot 33 for a load mechanism. Further, a load connector 31 is mounted at a load-connector mounting part in the crank 32. The crank 32 is composed so that the change in the force of the spring 38 makes the loading force at the ends of the load connector 31 generate a change smaller than the change in the former force.
