    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-projection system using plural projectors capable of projecting in plural color modes, in which a high quality image without a sense of incompatibility can be projected even when switching the color mode.SOLUTION: A multi-projection system projects an image from plural projectors 2 to a screen SC so that the images projected from adjacent projectors 2 form an overlapping area. Each projector 2 comprises: an optical modulator 24 for modulating light flux emitted from a lamp 22; a projection optical system 25 for projecting the light modulated by the optical modulator 24; a light-shielding device 3 for dimming an area from a circumference of the image projected by the projection optical system 25 to a predetermined position in the projected image; and a controller 21 for, when a color mode of the projector 2 is changed (a color mode change unit), controlling the area to be dimmed by the light-shielding device 3 according to the change of the color mode of the projector 2.
