    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is composed of a small number of components, is manufactured through a small number of manufacturing steps, provides a bright display image even when transmission display is performed and simplifies constitution of data signals. SOLUTION: Transistors Tr1 j , Tr2 j and Tr3 j are ON/OFF controlled based on selection signals sl1, sl2 and sl3 inputted to selection signal lines L1, L2 and L3 and one kind of data signal inputted from a data line D j is distributed and supplied as a sub-pixel data signal to a data electrode 31 selected based on the selection signals sl1, sl2 and sl3 corresponding to successive additive mixture of color or juxtaposed additive mixture of color. When transmission display is performed, the data electrode 31 corresponding to three sub-pixels which constitute one pixel is simultaneously selected based on the selection signals sl1, sl2 and sl3 corresponding to successive additive mixture of color and when reflection display is performed, the data electrode 31 is selected based on the selection signals sl1, sl2 and sl3 corresponding to juxtaposed additive mixture of color.
