    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for grasping the state of an object, by simultaneously identifying and measuring, for each RFID tag through a receiver, the intensities of fields that are generated from RFID tags which are arranged in a space to be detected.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: an m (m≥1) electromagnetic field generating means, placed close to a space that is occupied by an object when the object is in a particular state; an n (n≥1) field intensity measuring means for simultaneously identifying and measuring, for each electromagnetic field generating means, the intensities of fields that are generated from the m electromagnetic field generating means; a feature-extracting means for calculating a feature from time-series data on the intensities of m×n fields; and a state-identifying means for identifying the state, through statistical processing from the feature and feature data in each state for use in learning.
