    • PURPOSE:To improve the assembly operation properties and facilitate maintenance, by allowing a cover which covers the upper-surface opening of a case, to retain all of a load cell and circuit elements. CONSTITUTION:A fitting member 4 is inserted into a part of the lower surface of a cover 3. The fixing part 6 of a load cell 5 is screwed to the member 4. In addition, the cover 3 retains a transformer 14 as a circuit element in a suspended state. A PW plate 17 retains circuit elements, such as a power source unit which is connected to the transformer 14 so as to be controlled, converter, switch and CPU. The PW plate 17 is retained at the inner surface of the cover 3. Moreover, a pan 11 is provided with a level 18 for checking horizontality when the height of each of legs 2 is adjusted.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure plant growth with extremely good accuracy, by converting the wt. gain of a plant during a growing process thereof to the deflection amount of a cantilevered beam made of an elastic plate in a stepless manner by providing a growing plant wt. support apparatus to the free end of said cantilevered beam. CONSTITUTION:A growing plant 10 is supported by the ring 3 of a cantilevered beam sensor 7. The water level of a hydroponic solution is controlled so as to be always made constant in order to secure the supply of nutrient and water from the root of the plant 10. The load of the plant 10 is acted on a cantilevered beam 1 through the ring 3 to generate bending moment difference which is, in turn, detected by strain gauges 41-44 while the detected amount is detected by a bridge circuit 6. Because constant-voltage is applied to the bridge circuit 6, the growth measurement of the plant 10 can be performed by measuring the each detected output voltage changed with the elapse of time. In addition, by additionally providing a strain gauge to the part 4 of the cantilevered beam 1 in the longitudinal direction thereof, the deflection amount of the cantilevered beam 1 is converted to a digital value without receiving influence caused by the posture change of the plant 10 to make it possible to measure growth data.
