    • PURPOSE: The titled composite fine powder enabled to be used in various structural members by improving heat resistance and abrasion resistance while holding proper toughness, by bonding ceramics fine particles with a metal and specifying the average particle size of the resulting composite particles.
      CONSTITUTION: A ceramics-metal composite fine power comprises a structure wherein ceramics fine particles are bonded with a metal and has an average particle size adjusted to substantially 10μm or less. This fine powder is obtained by a method wherein a gaseous mixture consisting of one or more of metal vapor and gas comprising other element both of which constitute ceramics are chemically reacted while quenched by a first fanwise nozzle and, after the resulting reaction substance is bonded with second metal vapor, the obtained composite is further quenched by a second fanwise nozzle. Because this composite fine powder has high surface activity, it is excellent in compatibility and close adhesiveness with a matrix metal and can be uniformly dispersed throughout the matrix metal.
