    • PURPOSE: A recording medium having excellent ink absorbability and capable of giving clear recorded pictures by providing an ink absorptive layer containing a D-sorbitol-benzaldehyde condensate product on a transparent base material.
      CONSTITUTION: One hundred pts.wt. a high polymer (e.g., casein) capable of forming a transparent continuous fil is mixed with 5W200pts.wt. condensate product obtained from condensation of D-sorbitol and benzaldehyde in a proportion of 1:2W3 in mole ratio, together with a filler (e.g., BaSO
      4 ) as needed, and the mixture is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent to obtain a coating liquid. The coating liquid is coated on a transparent base material (e.g., polyester film) and dried to form a transparent ink absorptive layer of a thickness of 1W200μm.
