The separation plate has an inclined surface and two or more separation portions that separate a sheet from the sheets held in the tray. At least one of the separation portions projects a first distance from the inclined surface. The separation plate also has a projection positioned on the inclined surface that projects a second distance from the inclined surface. The second distance is greater than the first distance. A first of the separation portions is positioned upstream of the particular projection in the sheet feed direction, and a second of the separation portions positioned downstream of the particular projection in the sheet feed direction.

The feeder 20 has a spindle 21, an arm 22 supported by the spindle 21 to be rotatable, and a first roller 23 and a second roller 24 arranged at a rotation tip part of the arm 22. The first roller 23 and the second roller 24 are pressured to a sheet mounted on the paper feeding tray 14. The paper feeding tray 14 is provided with an abutting member 80. The abutting member 80 has a first abutting part 81 facing to the first roller 23 and the second roller 24, and a second abutting part 82 arranged in more upstream side of the feeding direction 37 than the first abutting part 82. A friction coefficient of the second abutting part 82 is smaller than that of the first abutting part 81. If biting of the first roller 23 and the second roller 24 occurs, the sheet receives a friction force from the second abutting part 82.
