      SOLUTION: The stacking apparatus stores the sheet-like recording medium in a standing state with tension by allowing the curved front end to collide with an abutting surface by a guide member when storing the sheet-like recording medium in a storage space. Even the recording medium with low stiffness is thereby prevented from flexure caused by the collision. The stacking apparatus has a discarding path and sorts out and discards the unnecessary recording media.
