    • PURPOSE:To obtain a safety device which will improve the lateral safety of a crew while used as an armchair, by splitting the back of a seat into many sections in up-down direction while arranging more than two independent supporters and fixing each supporter risably on the seat. CONSTITUTION:The central portion of a back A is splitted into many sections in up-down direction to form independent supporters. The left and right ends of the back A are fixed to the chassis C to secure a shaft 1. Each support is coupled in series by the shaft 1 to rotate the shaft 1 around a fulcrum. Each supporter has predetermined shock-absorbing performance, shape-holding performance and the strength required for an armchair.
