    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method, in which neither fusion between a thermal head and an ink sheet nor fusion between the ink sheet and an image receiving sheet develops even when highspeed printing is executed, a favorable image quality having no troubles such as ununiformity, wrinkles or the like and, at the same time, a highly dense print are obtained. SOLUTION: In this image forming method, the image is formed by giving thermal energy responding to an image signal sent from the thermal head under the condition that a thermal transfer sheet having a thermal transfer layer including a thermally transferable coloring material on one side of a base material film, on the other side of which, a heat-resisting lubricant layer is formed, and a thermosensitive transfer image-receiving sheet having at least one accepting layer including polymer latex and at least one thermal insulating layer, which includes a hollow polymer and no resin having no resistance to an organic solvent except the hollow polymer on a support are piled up so as to bring the thermal transfer layer of the thermal transfer sheet into contact with the accepting layer of the thermosensitive transfer image-receiving sheet.
