    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing apparatus which accurately adjusts a position of a bundle of sheets according to various processing, and an image forming system.SOLUTION: The sheet processing apparatus includes a pair of support plates 61A and 61B, a moving mechanism 62, holding units 53 and 54, and a controller. The pair of support plates 61A and 61B come in contact with the inside of a fold of a folded bundle of sheets S2. The moving mechanism 62 moves the pair of support plates 61A and 61B along to the direction to which the fold between the pair of support plates 61A and 61B, and the bundle of sheets S2 faces. The holding units 53 and 54 hold the bundle of sheets S2 from the thickness direction of the bundle of sheets S2. The controller controls the moving mechanism 62 to move the pair of support plates 61A and 61B to a position corresponding to the thickness of the bundle of sheets S2 before the holding units 53 and 54 hold the bundle of sheets S2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of producing, when performing bookbinding based on a folding process for a plurality of sheets, a bound article in which another sheet of a fold size obtained by folding the sheet into halves, or a spread size identical to that of the sheet is properly inserted, in an image processing apparatus.SOLUTION: When dividing a plurality of pages of document data included in a print job for divisional bookbinding into first and second document data groups corresponding to first and second bound articles, this image processing apparatus performs the division by using a designated insertion position as a boundary when the size of designated insertion paper is a fold size, and using, as a boundary, a position defined so that the insertion paper can be spread in either of the first and second bound articles respectively produced corresponding to the first and second document data groups when the size of the designated insertion paper is a spread size. Layout processing for image data in a print order is performed for the respective document data groups after division, and layout processing of image data corresponding to the insertion paper is performed according to designation of the insertion position.
