    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically bind a paper bundle with a spiral coil having a coil diameter in response to the thickness of the paper bundle and constitute a coil binding system usable by a general user. SOLUTION: This paper processing device 100 for binding the paper bundle 3 with the spiral coil 11 formed of a wire 1 with a predetermined thickness includes: a coil forming mechanism 20, which has a circular arcuate part of setting a plurality of kinds of coil diameters and forms the spiral coil 11; a binding mechanism 40 for binding the paper bundle 3 with the spiral coil 11 formed by the coil forming mechanism 20, a paper sensor for detecting the paper bundle 3 and outputting paper information; and a selecting mechanism for selecting and setting one coil diameter corresponding to the thickness of the paper bundle 3 based on the paper information outputted from the paper sensor from among the circular arcuate part for setting a plurality of kinds of coil diameters.
