    • PURPOSE:To make the descaling rate in a longitudinal direction uniform by the min. operating input by controlling the operating input of a mechanical scale breaker or mechanical descaler in accordance with the stored value of the fluctuation in the coiling temp. in the longitudinal direction of a hot-rolled steel strip. CONSTITUTION:The coiling temp. including the temp. change over the longitudinal direction of a hot-rolled steel strip 1 is detected by a coiling temp. detector 5 just before a coiler 2 and the detected value is stored in a data logging device 6 in the stage of coiling the strip 1. The data group ai for the coiling temp. is transmitted through a computer 7 for production control to a computer 8 for controlling a descaling line simultaneously with the coil instruction for the strip 1. The computer 8 calculates the operating input standard (c) for a scale grinder 12 from said data and inputs the same to a setter 10. On the other hand, the correction value group bi for the operating input to the grinder 12 with respect to the fluctuation in the data group ai is applied to a tracking device 9 for the steel strip. The sum (e) of the correction signal (d) for the operating input and the standard (c) is applied to the grinder 12 for each of the parts where the strip 1' passes through the grinder 12.

    • PURPOSE:To remove mechanically the scales on the surface of a steel strip and to reduce an installation and its descaling cost by gearing the projecting and recessing parts of a pair of rolls provided to both surfaces of the advancing strip and giving noncontinuous bending and friction to the strip. CONSTITUTION:A friction is produced between a steel strip 1 and profile rolls 2, 2, and an exfoliative property of the surface scales of strip 1 is improved by the bending actions and vibrations given by the rolls 2, 2; then the scales are easily removed by giving a shearing force caused by the friction to the gaps between the base material of strip 1 and the scales. At that time, the scales of strip 1 is mechanically removed by providing continuously the profile rolls 2, 2 to the advancing path of the strip 1.
