    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chrysanthemum type element with a filter medium eliminating the need to be coated with an adhesive which enables a filtration area that the filter medium originally has to be sufficiently used and is excellent in filtration efficiency and filtration life, and to provide its manufacturing method, a filter, and a fluid filter.
      SOLUTION: The chrysanthemum type element has folds and has a cylindrical shape with the upper ends and the lower ends of the inner surfaces of adjacent folds to be joined with each other. The chrysanthemum type element is provided with (A) an element main body comprising the filter medium which is provided with filter paper and low-melting-point fiber layers formed at least on the upper end and the lower end of the surface of the filter paper to be at the inner surface side of the fold and (B) jointing parts which are formed at the upper end and the lower end of the inner surface of the fold and are formed by heat-welding the low-melting-point fiber layers. The low-melting-point fiber layer is made of fiber (for example, PP fiber or the like) with a melting point lower than that of a filter paper material (for example, PET fiber or the like) forming the filter paper and/or conjugated fiber containing fiber with a melting point lower than that of the filter paper material.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering device for filtering the fluid in an internal combustion engine, having easy-to-assemble and simple construction for preventing the leakage of the liquid (oil) from the unfiltered side and clean side of a filter element. SOLUTION: The filtering device comprises a filter housing 2 into which the filter element 3 can be inserted, and a cover member 6 including an upper plate 7 which can be placed on the upper end side of the filter element, and a flow path connection part 8. The cover member has a supporting part 9 arranged coaxially to encircle the flow path connection part, and the supporting part is formed as one molded component integrated with the cover member. On the axial surface of the cover member, a supporting face is formed to support a cover plate 16 which covers the filter device 1 on its upper end side, and in the cover member, a fluid space 13 for fluid is formed. A fluid space is defined by the face of the upper plate 7 on the opposite side to the filter element in the axial direction and the face of the supporting part on the opposite side to the flow path connection part in the radial direction.
