Further, the extract is obtained e.g. by extracting dry leaves of Gymnema sylvestre with water and making the pH value of the extract to 3 to precipitate the component of the extract.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the subject chewing gum having an excellent regenerable ability to simply judge the mastication ability of a man without requiring any equipment on the measurement thereof by comprising a chewing rubber base compounded with a xanthane lactone type dyestuff and a chewing rubber base compounded with an alkaline agent. CONSTITUTION:The xanthane dyestuff (synthetic dyestuff) is especially preferably the red 104 (phloxine). The alkaline agent as a coloring agent is preferably sodium bicarbonate. The chewing gum base compounded with the xanthane lactone type dyestuff and the chewing gum base compounded with the alkaline agent are formed into e.g. other belt-like shapes, respectively. The examination of the mastication is performed by masticating both the chewing gum bases together. The mastication of the chewing gum, e.g. approximately 50 times and the comparison of the color of the chewing gum colored thus permits to judge the mastication ability highly simply and rapidly.

摘要： PURPOSE:To form chewing gum having complicate shape, easily, by cutting the surface of a gum sheet placed on a base with a quick-motion cutting edge having desired form, and at the same time, forming a relief pattern with a pattern edge. CONSTITUTION:The gum sheet 2 placed on a base 1 is cut and divided by moving the cutting edge 4 or the base 1 along the direction of the arrow at a high speed. The cutting operation and the stamping of pattern following the cutting are carried out instantaneously by holding the sheet 2 firmly with the springs 9a, 9b and the base 1, pressing the springs 9a, 9b, and at the same time, pressing the cutting edge 4 and the pattern edge 6 toward the sheet 2. When the edge 4 reaches the lower dead center, it is extracted from the sheet 2. In the above case, the adhesion of the gum to the edge 4 is prevented by the action of the springs 9a, 9b to separate the sheet 2 from the edge 4, the deformation of the formed gum can be suppressed. In addition to the above merits, the formed chewing gum has sharp contour, and the separation of the cut chewing gum 5 from the edges 5, 6 can be carried out smoothly.

The trehalose is a kind of sugar distributed among animals, plants and microorganisms, and a non-reductive disaccharide obtained by 1, 1 bonding of 2 molecules of glucose. The trehalose has a characteristic to be substituted with water content in cells in animals or plants very rapidly as its property, and is effective for water maintenance of a food. Also, since it reduces the activity of water content, it has an effect of preventing the separation of water.
