    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and mechanically transfer a reel to a work journal, by supplying it to the work journal at a perpendicular position where a center hole faces horizontally, after a pickup head of a reel conveyer picks up the reel one at a time from a group of the reels.
      SOLUTION: Reels 10 are disposed vertically each other with their center holes extending perpendicularly in a stocking area for a group 13 of the reels, and the reel 10 is picked up and raised one at a time by a pickup head of a reel conveyer 15. The raised reel 10 is then rotated by the pickup head 18 in a condition in which it is supplied to a work journal 16 at a perpendicular position where the center hole 11 faces horizontally, in order to bring it to a transfer position in front of the work journal 16 at the upper end position. Thereby, the reel 10 can be automatically, mechanically and easily transferred to the work journal 16 from the stock of the reels 16.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change the printing details by forming a recessed part at the position where the printing can be recognized by user when a lid of a tobacco packet for an internal packing material in the tobacco packet is opened, and providing individual printing by a packaging machine. SOLUTION: A packet part 10 in a tobacco packet having a hinged lid comprises a forward wall 12, a rear wall 13, side flaps 14, 15 and a bottom part 16. A lid 11 provided with a forward wall 17, a rear wall 18 and side flaps 19, 20 is continuously provided on an upper part of the rear wall 13 of the packet part 10 by a hinge line 23 in the horizontal direction in an oscillating manner. An internal packaging material 28 to surround the tobacco group is stored in the tobacco packet. The internal packaging material 28 is formed of a blank consisting of a printed trip 43 having one recessed part 45, the recessed part 45 is positioned in an upper area of an inner forward wall 30 so that the printing provided in the recessed part 45 can be recognized when the lid 11 is opened.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form so that the cross-section of a completed package is as accurately rectangular as possible, by making the cross-section of a folding mandrel itself trapezoidal so that its small side wall which the overlapping part of a blank contacts is narrower than its narrow, long side wall situated opposite to it. SOLUTION: Blanks from which a package is formed is folded on the external face of a folding mandrel 10 successively. First, the inside tinfoil blank 16 is folded, then the paper blank 17 for a soft pouch is folded on the outside of it, and its inside flap 23 and outside flap 24 are jointed together by adhesion. In the joined part by the adhesion, the overlapping part of the package slightly expands during the setting of the adhesive. To counteract the effect, the folding mandrel 10 does not have an accurately rectangular cross-section but it is formed in the shape of a trapezoid in which the width of its side wall 15 which the joined part of the inside flap 23 and outside flap 24 contact is slightly smaller than the width of its opposite side wall 14.
