    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thawing device utilizing high frequency wave enabling constantly uniform and appropriate thawing treatment to frozen food material.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defrosting apparatus which can adjust a space between counter electrodes to the height of an object to be defrosted, and can defrost the object to be defrosted into a preferable state without regard to the height of the object to be defrosted.
      SOLUTION: The defrosting apparatus comprises counter electrodes 20 between which an object to be defrosted F is sandwiched, a mechanism for adjusting space between electrodes (mechanism section for adjusting space between electrodes) 120 which adjusts the space between the counter electrodes 20 to the height of the object to be defrosted F, a high frequency supplying circuit 100 which supplies a high frequency power to the counter electrodes 20, and a condition changing section (control section) 60 which changes a condition of supplying the high frequency power to the counter electrodes 20 corresponding to the space between the counter electrodes 20.
