      SOLUTION: In a rice polisher 10, rice grains charged to a feed trough 20 are polished while being transferred to the upper side of the rice polishing chamber 30, and discharged from a discharge opening 54. Here, the torque for closing the discharge opening 54 by a resistant plate 62 is nearly maintained by rotating a tension coil spring 70 to a set dial 68 with biasing force and by sliding the tension coil spring 70 to a resistant bar 64, even when the amount of the rice grains charged to the feed trough 20 is changed and also the opening degree of the discharge opening 54 is changed by the resistant plate 62. Thus, the change of the polishing rice pressure in the rice polishing chamber 30 can be restricted and the change of the degree of polishing grain in the rice grains and of the yield of polishing rice can be restricted.
