SOLUTION: A working head 14 for holding a grindstone 12 is held by a head holding device 16 by holding the working head 14 at two places apart in the axial direction by an elasticity holding device 50. The elasticity holding device is provided with an extension coil spring 60 arranged along a bus of a conical face apart at an equal angular interval by making the axial line of a tool holding shaft as the center line. The elasticity holding device absorbs relative movement errors to a workpiece. Consequently, the chamfering can be excellently executed even if the accuracy of the movement by a robot 18 is poor in some degree.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fatigue strength as well as to improve manufacturing efficiency of a gear of a hypoid gear. SOLUTION: A gear raw material 30 is formed by casting a rough raw material. A rounded part is provided on the end 92 of the tooth top surface 84 of the gear raw material 30, and the tooth bottom part 110 has a tooth bottom surface 114, a recessed curved surface 116, and a draft surface 112. The shape and the size of respective parts are selected so that the tooth flank 102 may be smoothly contiguous with the recessed curved surface 116 and a part of the rounded part on the end 92 may remain to function as a chamfer part when a machining allowance 104 is cut and removed in finishing. The recessed curved surface 116 and the tooth bottom surface 114 are provided with skin parts formed in casting and have no step part, and therefore, fatigue strength is improved. The end 92 is not needed to be chamfered by an exclusive machining device, and manufacturing efficiency is improved.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the frequency of cutting chip removing work in a spiral bevel gear cutting machine. SOLUTION: A head stock 20 is fixed to a bed 10, and a workpiece is held by a spindle 18 supported perpendicularly extended. On the other hand, a spindle head 52 is provided so as to be able to relatively travel in the X, Y and Z axis directions and turn around the Z axis. In gear cutting, the spindle head 52 travels in the X, Y and Z directions with the pitch bus lines of a tool spindle 50 and the workpiece kept transverse to each other. Since there is no sliding section for making the head stock 20 travel, even when gear cutting is performed to the workpiece supported on the spindle 18, the chips produced cannot drop on sliding sections. For this reason, it is not necessary to frequently perform chip removing work.
