    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubrication structure of a sewing machine, the lubrication structure achieving high lubricating performance without causing defects due to leakage of lubricant outside a housing and performing excellent lubrication of a sliding member which operates at high speed.
      SOLUTION: The lubrication structure lubricates a support part of an upper looper rod 1 which slides in an axial longitudinal direction in accordance with operation of a looper driving shaft 21 and a looper crank 22 inside a sewing machine bed 2, wherein a holding body 3 is made of porous material in which many pores each having a diameter of 10 to 40 μm and continuous with one after another are formed at a porosity of 60 to 90%, and a part of the holding body 3 is approximated the support part of the upper looper rod 1, fixedly provided in the internal surface of the sewing machine bed 2, and the lubricant which is impregnated in and held by the holding body 3 is supplied to the support part of the upper looper rod 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To report to an operator that the operation of driving a sewing machine is disabled as the result of imperfect closure of any of covers covering the movable parts of a sewing machine main body, while specifying the cover that is the cause of this, so that the sewing machine can be quickly restored from the state in which the driving operation is disabled. SOLUTION: This sewing machine is so designed that a cover 5a covering the fronts of needles 1, 1, ..., a cover 5b covering a looper thread feeder 8, and a cover 5c covering a needle thread feeder 9 are equipped with respective opening/closing detection means for detecting their opening and closing movements. If either of the opening/closing detection means detects an open state when the operation of driving a sewing machine main body is performed, the drive of the sewing machine main body is inhibited, and an alarm differing according to the opening/closing detection means which detected the open state is issued.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent oil leakage and dust intrusion by enclosing tightly the arm part of a sewing machine substantially through omission of the use of a needle thread path reciprocating vertically in synchronization with a needle rod, and to secure the safety of the operator, and allow the machine to work well with the needs for a high speed operation of sewing. SOLUTION: A needle rod 3 is supported in the foremost part 1A of the arm 1 of a sewing machine concerned with capability of reciprocating vertically, and in the horizontal part 1B of the arm, a main shaft for driving 4 to reciprocate the needle rod 3 vertically is inserted and supported. Outside the arm 1, a reeling device 20 is installed which controls the thread feeding operation of a needle thread 9 supplied to a needle 8 via a tension adjuster 11 and a stationary needle thread path 13 through the operation in synchronization with the vertical reciprocative motions of the needle rod 3. The range of the vertical reciprocative motions of the needle rod 3 is set so as not protrude up from the arm 1, and the upper wall part 1a of the arm foremost part 1A is enclosed substantially.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal structure capable of preventing a seal member from coming out of a guide member and enabling the replacement of the seal member. SOLUTION: A needle bar 12 is guided by a tubular needle bar receiving members 29 and 30 and reciprocatingly and displaceably driven in the axial direction. Needle bar seal members 33 and 34 comprise outer peripheral base parts 40, oil seal parts 50, and dust seal parts 52, and are fitted to the needle bar receiving members 29 and 30 by the outer peripheral base part 40. A contact face 53 supporting the axial displacements of the needle bar receiving members 29 and 30 is formed on the outer peripheral base part 40. Thus, the outer peripheral base part 40 can be prevented from being axially displaced relative to the needle bar receiving members 29 and 30. As a result, even if the needle bar seal members 33 and 34 are fitted to a needle bar 12 reciprocatingly and displaceably driven, the needle bar seal members 33 and 34 can be securely prevented from coming out of the needle bar receiving members 29 and 30.
