SOLUTION: The solid ink stick 100 to be used by loading into an ink delivery system of a phase changing ink imaging apparatus is made into a rotationally symmetrical shape around its vertical central axis. A projecting part 160 and a recessed part 164 being a plane-like connecting part are provided on the end face 148 of the stick 100, and the recessed part 164 and the projecting part 160 being a complementary shape therefor are provided as connection on the end face 150 of the reverse side. Key parts 168 and 170 are provided on the side face 140 of the stick 100, and on the side face 144 of the reverse side, the key parts 178 and 174 having the same shapes as them are provided at a rotationally symmetrical position around the vertical central axis.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink feeding system which can easily load solid ink sticks by a large amount and prevents jamming.
      SOLUTION: A driving member, for example, a drive belt 316 is set extending at a chute 308 as a guide which guides the solid ink stick 306 along at least a part of a stick feeding route defined by the chute 308. The belt 316 simultaneously contacts generally a plurality of the sticks 306 present on the stick feeding route, feeding them from a loading part 324 to a liquefying part 330. A groove with a straight part or a curved part is formed on an external surface of the stick 306 to match the shape of the belt 316. The belt 316 is made to contact inside. A spring-urged push block for pushing the stick rearmost becomes unnecessary, whereby the loading number of the sticks is increased. Loading is facilitated to prevent jamming due to the spring pushing.
