SOLUTION: The method of controlling gloss of the image comprises the steps of: determining a desired gloss of the image; setting the amount of at least one curable wax to be contained in an overcoat composition based on the determined desired gloss; preparing the overcoat composition to contain the set amount of at least one curable wax; applying the prepared overcoat composition over an object to be printed; and applying radiation to substantially cure the applied overcoat composition. The overcoat composition contains at least one gellant, at least one curable monomer, at least one curable wax and optionally at least one photoinitiator and is curable when exposed to radiation.
