摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a mcromonomer which can be easily formed into a graft copolymer useful as a functional material such as a membrane material, by polymerizing a specified monomer with a functional azo initiator and reacting the product with a compound having a double bond in the molecule. CONSTITUTION:A vinyl monomer, a vinylidene monomer, a vinylene monomer or a diene monomer is polymerized by using a functional azo initiator in the presence or absence of a degradative chain transfer agent to synthesize a prepolymer having functional group(s) on one or both ends. A monomer is obtained by introducing double bond(s) into one or both ends of the molecule by reacting the prepolymer with a compound being reactive with said functional group and having a double bond in the molecule. Among the macromonomers obtained in this way, the one having a double bond on one end is used as a parent polymer in the copolymerization with another monomer, thus readily obtaining a graft copolymer.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the title compd. selectively in the form of only a pure type A crystal, which is useful as a photoconductive material of electro photographic materials, by condensing o-phthalodinitrile with TiCl4 in an org. solvent at a temp. within a specified range and hydrolyzing the product. CONSTITUTION:o-Phthalodinitrile (A) and TiCl4 (B) in a molar ratio is about 4:1 are added to an org. solvent (C) (e.g., alpha-chloronaphthalene) in an amount of 2-15 times that of the component A, which has been preheated to 160-300 deg.C. They are brought into contact with each other at 170-300 deg.C to thereby condense them, thus obtaining dichlorotitanium phthalocyanine. The product is recovered by filtration with heating, washed and repeatedly treated with hot water till the pH reaches 5-7 to hydrolyze it. If desired, the resulting product is heat- treated in an org. solvent such as quinoline, alpha-chloronaphthalene, etc.

摘要： PURPOSE:Titled wet cake which is useful as a polymerization initiator for suspension polymerization and being excellent in storage stability, dispersibility, etc., prepared by mixing water with a finely divided organic azo type polymerization initiator. CONSTITUTION:An azo compound such as 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile, 1,1'-azobis (cyclohexane-1-carbonitrile) or 2,2'-azobis(2,4-dimethyl-valeronitrile) is divided into fine particles at least 95% of which has usually a diameter smaller than about 10mu, by the used of a jet mill, a ball mill, a vibration mill or the like. The resulting fine particles are mixed with water to form cake. The moisture-containing wet cake thus produced is a uniform slightly soft solid containing usually 10-20% of water; completely freed from formation of secondary particles; easy in handling such as storage or transportation; has stable uniformity and when thrown into water and stirred, disperses easily into water to form a dispersion of finely divided particles.

摘要： PURPOSE:Frozen organic azonitrile prepared by freezing a dispersion consisting of organic azonitrile, a polymerization initiator, and water and dispersant, this permitting the long-term transportation and storage showing uniform and stable dispersion state when thawed. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion containing less than 40wt% of organic azonitrile, a dispersant and water is frozen into flakes, powders or cubes. The organic azonitrile is used as a polymerization initiator for unsaturated vinyl monomers and is preferably made to very fine particles when made into the dispersion. The frozen azonitrile can be handled like a usual solid or powder and readily weighed. When thawed, it reproduces uniform dispersion without phase separation and can be transported to polymerizer or the like with usual pumps.

CONSTITUTION:An organic peroxide (e.g. diacyl peroxide) is dissolved in an organic solvent such as pentane and hexane. 0.1-10 Parts, based on 1 part of the peroxide, of a water-soluble polymer (e.g. celluosic water-soluble polymer) is added to the solution, and the solvent is evaporated or distilled off at a temperature below the heat decomposition temperature of the peroxide leaving the objective fine particles of the organic peroxide. Since the particles can be dispersed uniformly in water, and dissolved in the droplets of the polymerizable monomer, the productivity of the polymer can be remarkably improved. The physical properties and processability of the resulting polymer are extremely high because of the absence of solvents other than water in the preparation of the polymer.

The precipitation can be carried out easily, only by removing the solvent (which is non- or poor-solvent of the water- soluble polymer, e.g. methylene chloride) from the solution.
