    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in an optical disk such that a reproduced signal is remarkably deteriorated when the signal recorded at the 2nd time is reproduced, and also the actually usable capacity of the disk is decreased when the quality of the signal recorded at the 2nd time is defective. SOLUTION: In an application system 110, the overwriting recording is made on the optical disk 101 by the verifying operation when reproduced data from the optical disk 101 are not coincident with the recorded data. After that, the same address is reproduced by a front end 1 to check in a signal processing circuit 106 whether the quality of the reproduced signal shows the specified value or better. When the quality of the reproduced signal shows less than the specified value, each part is controlled by a system controller 108 so as to record again the same address, and the quality of the reproduced signal is again checked in the same way as the above. When overwritten more than twice, the signal quality of the better reproduced signal is held as compared with the reproduced signal of the overwriting recording at the 1st time.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the reproduction of a disk satisfactorily under the optimum condition even though a laser wavelength or the number of openings of an objective lens is different according to the time of recording or reproducing. SOLUTION: In the case of the recording operation is executed by setting the waveform equalizing condition so that the jitter is minimized at the time of recording for securing the compatibility for reading the optical disk, the waveform equalizing signal at the time of reproduction is formed into waveform S1 described by a solid line in the figure (C). However, when this disk is reproduced by another exclusive reproducing device having the laser wavelength or the number of openings of the objective lens different from those at the time of recording operation, the waveform equalizing signal is formed into waveform S2 described by a dotted line in the figure (C) incurring the increase of jitter. Then, the waveform equalizing characteristics at the recording side is set so that the waveform equalizing signal at the time of recording operation is formed into waveform S3 described by the dotted line. As the result, the equalizing waveform at the time of reproduction by the reproducing device having the laser wavelength, etc. different from those at the time of recording operation becomes to have the minimized jitter like as the waveform S1 described by the solid line.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent regenerative signal by setting an operational condition of an automatic control system of closed circuit of one loop so that the error signal of the automatic control system of closed circuit of one loop performing position control of a reproducing element part becomes to be in a minimum state. CONSTITUTION:Output signals A-D of a quadripartite photodetector 8 are added by an adder 11 to be supplied to a signal process part 12 as a regenerative signal, and it becomes a binary EFM (eight-to-fourteen modulation) signal. The EFM signal and a BIT CLK(bit clock) signal are inputted to a signal generation part, and the signal generation part generates a first pulse Pc rising at the point of time of the inversion part of the EFM signal and falling at the point of time of the rise of the BIT CLK signal first appearing thereafter, and a second pulse pd rising at the point of time of the fall of the pulse Pc and falling at the point of time of the rise of the next clock signal, and a sample-hold signal Psh and a reset pulse Pr. Positional information of a recording medium from an SH circuit 25 is inputted to a CPU 51, and the CPU 51 sets the operational condition of the automatic control system so that the error signal of the automatic control system of closed circuit of one loop performing the control of the reproducing element part becomes to be in the minimum state.

    • PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate and stable tracking control by providing a position detecting sensor for an objective lens of an optical pickup, a means for detecting a track error by moving the whole optical pickup and a correcting means. CONSTITUTION:Switches 15 and 16 are operated by an MPU to turn off a tracking control, and a slider 18 is moved. The objective lens 3L is kept in a prescribed position by a lens holding circuit 7. The track error signal is corrected by a signal correcting circuit SM. The optical pickup 2 is moved at such a prescribed speed as to obtain a track error signal TE having a frequency higher enough than a track deflection frequency, and the signal TE is detected by an error detecting circuit 4. Consequently, the signal TE has an approximately prescribed frequency, and at the time of TE correction, sampling can rapidly be performed with an optimum sampling frequency. Then distortions of the waveform can be reduced, and an amplitude of TE and an DC level can be corrected under almost none of track deflection effects.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate track deviation by detecting the temperature around a disk by a sensor, setting and storing a track deviation correction amount of a head corresponding to each temperature, and turning and displacing a stepping motor according to the correction corresponding to detected temperature information. CONSTITUTION:A rotation direction signal of a stepping motor 4, a rotation step signal and a head indication signal are inputted from a controller through an input terminal, and supplied to a CPU12. The detection signal of a temperature sensor 13 near the disk is supplied to an A/d converter 14, converted to a digital value and supplied to the CPU12. The CPU12 generates controlling signals responding to these signals and supplies them to an exciting circuit 16 and a current ratio variable circuit 17. Responding to the controlling signal, the exciting circuit 16 grounds an end of two adjoining exciting coils out of exciting coils 4a-4d, and the current from a power source terminal 18 is supplied through the current ratio variable circuit 17, and the stepping motor 4 is turned and displaced. Accordingly, even when each part expands or contracts due to the change of temperature, the stepping motor is turned and displaced correspondingly, and the track deviation of the head is corrected and correct tracking is performed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the land prepit on both sides of the groove without fail. SOLUTION: The track of the optical disk 1 consists of a wobbled groove 3 and lands 4 located between the adjacent grooves 3 both made into a pair. Address information to the information signals on a groove 3 is formed in advance as the land prepit 5 on the land 4. The grooves are scanned with a light beam spot B and the light reflected on the disk 1 is received by a photo-detector PD which has a light-receiving area divided at least into two, the first and second 2nd light-receiving areas, in the direction of the tracks. When detecting the land prepit 5 in junction with the groove 3 from the radial push- pull signal which is the difference signal of the outputs of the 1st and the 2nd light-receiving areas, the land prepits 5 close to the hill of the wave on the groove 3 and the land prepits 5 close to the dale of the wave on the groove 3 are each detected from the radial push-pull signal.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for reproducing information that can increase the reproducible number of times dramatically without deteriorating a characteristic of a mask layer. SOLUTION: The device for reproducing the information is formed by laminating a layer 10 recording and reproducing the information and a mask layer 4 having a mask effect that increases photo transmittances when light intensity of irradiation is intensified and is one of an optical disc that narrows an optical spot diameter transmitting the mask layer more substantially than an optical spot diameter incident on the mask layer and is irradiated to a layer recording and reproducing the information. It is provided with an optical pickup 12 irradiating laser light to the optical disc and a controller 24 controlling the optical pickup so as to irradiate the laser light successively and repeatedly to several tracks near a specific track containing the specific track when the reproduction of the specific track is designated. Thereby, it can increase the reproducible number of times dramatically without deteriorating the characteristic of the mask layer.
