    • PURPOSE:To realize the excellent recording characteristic and reproducing characteristic by varying gradually an angle to a magnetic gap with respect to an axis of easy magnetization existing in the surface of each core of a pair of core half bodies, bending gradually the direction of the axis of each magnetization of a magnetic core and forming a closed line. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic path forming surface of a magnetic core main body is set to {110} surface, and a pair of core half bodies 12, 13 are constituted of single crystal ferrite of three layers or more extending from the front core gap 15A side to the back core gap 15B side. Subsequently, the magnetic head is constituted by making the [110] axis of easy magnetization existing in the {110} surface of each core of a pair of core half bodies 12, 13 symmetrical against the butting surface, varying gradually an angle to a magnetic gap with respect to the [110] axis of the axis of easy magnetization existing in the {110} surface of each core of a pair of core half bodies 12, 13, bending gradually the direction of the axis of easy magnetization of a magnetic core and forming a closed line. In such a way, the electromagnetic conversion efficiency of the magnetic head is improved, and the excellent recording characteristic and reproducing characteristic are realized.

    • PURPOSE:To maximize reproduction output at 5MHz by melting and packing glass materials having the coefft. of thermal expansion lower by about 20-25% than the coefft. of thermal expansion of ferrite materials used for magnetic cores into track width control grooves. CONSTITUTION:A winding window 13 is formed on one face 12a of butt faces 11a, 12a of magnetic core hemispheres 11, 12 consisting of a soft magnetic ferrite material and the butt faces 11a, 12 are integrally joined via a gap material which consists of a nonmagnetic material and is interposed between said faces to form a magnetic gap 15 on a tape sliding surface 14. The track control grooves 16, 17 which control the width W of the gap 15 to a prescribed track width are formed on the sliding surface 14 and the glasses 18, 19 are melted and packed into the grooves 16, 17. The soft magnetic ferrite material is made of the compsn. consisting of Fe2O3: MnO: ZnO=(53-61)mol%: (32-37)mol%: (9.5-16)mol% and has >=120X10 / deg.C coefft. of thermal expansion at 0-400 deg.C. The glasses 18, 19 are so constituted as to have the coefft. of thermal expansion smaller by about 20-25% than the coefft. of thermal expansion of the ferrite material. The reproduction output at 5MHz is thereby maximized.

    • PURPOSE:To improve S/N and the color picture quality of a reproduced picture by selecting the gap width of a magnetic head so as to satisfy specified relations relative to the recording wavelength of a low frequency conversion carrier chrominance signals and the recording wavelength of a luminance signal to be frequency-modulated. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head selects a gap width (g) to the value to satisfy both inequalitis lambdac/g =2 to a recording wavelength lambdac of low frequency conversion carrier chrominance signals and the recording wavelength lambdaw of a luminance signal to be frequency-modulated in a white peak clip level. Both inequalities are obtained by an experiment, etc., the gap width of a magnetic head is selected to the value to satisfy both inequalities and in both bands of the low frequency conversion carrier chrominance signals and an FM luminance signal, a recording loss, a magnetic flux reduction at the time of reproduction and a gap loss are respectively decreased. Thus, a common magnetic head is used and a satisfactory S/N video signal can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain the magnetic head having good reproducing efficiency, etc. CONSTITUTION: This is a composite magnetic head constituted in such a way that core halves 20A and 20B are formed respectively of forward core parts 21A and 21B consisting of monocrystal ferrite, provided on the side of a surface in sliding contact with a magnetic recording medium and backward core parts 22A and 22B consisting of polucrystal ferrite, and magnetic gap abutting surfaces QA and QB of these core halves 20A and 20B are formed with metalline soft magnetic films 24 of high saturation magnetic flux density respectively. Areas on the side of backward parts of the magnetic gap abutting surfaces QA and QB respectively are formed wider than the forward side, while trapezoidal parts 22A-1 and 22B-1 as partial surfaces of the backward core parts 22A and 22B are exposed in partial parts of the metalline soft magnetic films 24 on the backward side respectively, thus improving magnetic efficiency of the backward core parts 22A and 22B and enhancing reproducing efficiency, etc.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic head having excellent reproduced output and wear resistance. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic head is provided with a first head body H10 of which the contact surface with a traveling tape precedes and a second head body H20 which is arranged apart a prescribed spacing from the first head body by mounting C-shaped cores 10, 20 and I-shaped cores 23, 24 as one set via gaps G10, G20 at a rotating body. The magnetic path surfaces of the C- shaped cores of the first and second head bodies are formed as crystal surfaces 110, the tape sliding surfaces as 211 and the gap butt surfaces as 111. On the other hand, the magnetic path surfaces of the I-shaped cores are formed as crystal surfaces 110, the tape sliding surfaces as 211 and the gap butt surfaces as 100. The magnetic head having the good reproducing efficiency and excellent wear resistance is obtd.
