摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having πelectron conjugated system of a specific structure in the same molecule, stably exhibiting metal gloss, being stable in the air and soluble to organic solvents and useful as a coating film-forming material. SOLUTION: This 2,5-dithienylpyrrole derivative is represented by formula I (R is H, an alkyl, an aromatic group, formyl, an acyl, an alkoxycarbonyl or an alkenyl), e.g. 1-[(4-n-hexyloxy)phenyl]-2-(2-thienyl)-5-(5-tricyanoethenyl-2- thenyl)pyroole. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound of formula II with tetracyanoethylene in an organic solvent. The compound of formula I has heat stability and can be utilized for formation of a vapor deposited film. The compound of formula I is heated at a temperature not lower than its melting point to be melted and the melt is cooled to afford its crystals. Furthermore, the electroconductivity can further be improved by doping iodine, or the like, to the compound of formula I.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red light emitting element having high luminance and long lifetime by including a compound having di-cyano vinyl group in organic layers laminated between a pair of electrodes, at least one of which is formed of a transparent electrode. SOLUTION: This organic EL element includes a compound having di-cyano vinyl group expressed with formula I in organic layers. In formula I, R1 means a compound having an aromatic ring part, R1 includes a thiophene ring, and hydrogen of the thiophene ring is substituted so as to form a compound expressed with the formula I. Specifically, a compound expressed with formula II is used, and desirably, a light emitting layer including the compound expressed with formula I in Alq3 is used. The organic layer is formed by forming a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, and a light emitting layer in order on an anode. The light emitting layer is obtained by adding the compound expressed with formula II as a dopant to the host material of Alq3 expressed with formula III. A red light emitting material using a compound having a di-cyano vinyl group can emit the red light without causing lowering of luminance at the initial stage of light emission.

When the compound of formula I is combinedly used with, in particular, tris (8-quinolinolato) aluminum in the organic light-emitting layer of an organic electroluminescent element, such a characteristic as to increase its luminance with the lapse of time is exhibited as well.
