摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pearl culture method using culture facilities on land. SOLUTION: The sea water living bivalves or fresh water living bivalves transplanted with the mantle pieces and nuclei or mantle pieces of the shellfishes for nacre layer formation are cultured by feed essentially consisting of skim milk powder in the culture facilities on land having the sea water or the same compsn. as the compsn. of the sea water or in the fresh eater of the culture facilities on land. The sea water living bivalves are preferably pearl oysters, black lips, goldlips, or P. penguin. This breeding method is applicable to the breeding of the larva or spat of the sea water living or fresh water living bivalves and the breeding of the mother shells before the transplantation of the mantle pieces of the shellfishes for nacre layer formation. The skim milk powder is stable in supply and is higher in cost effectiveness that the conventional feed formed by culturing plankton. Since the bivalves are cultured in the culture facilities on land managed to an optimum environment, the growth of the mother shells and the nacre layers are much faster than in the natural sea and further, there are no possibilities of natural hazards, like typhoons and red tides.
