    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst film which is formed on a transparent inorganic substrate, shows good hydrophilic performance, controls occurrence of an interference fringe and has a reduced reflectance and high transparency.
      SOLUTION: The photocatalyst film is formed on a transparent inorganic substrate and contains a titanium alkoxide hydrolytic condensate as a binder. The refractive index of the transparent inorganic substrate and that of the surface of the photocatalyst film have a specified relation. The photocatalyst film does not contain silica particles or contains one or two kinds of silica particles having specified particle sizes in a specified ratio.

Humidification treatment and heating treatment are performed under specified conditions to produce the organic-inorganic composite gradient material.
