CONSTITUTION: A pasty dental abrassive suitably used for the sake of abrading and polishing dental prosthesis is prepared from fine powder alumina, fatty acid, surfactant, a coloring agent, an antifungal agent and water. At this time, pref., the content of fine powder alumina is set to 20-70wt.%, that of fatty acid is set to 2-8wt.% and the sum total content of fatty acid and the surfactarft is set to 4-21wt.%. In the particle size distribution of fine powder alumina, a particle size at a cumulation height 20% point is 3.1μm or less and a particle size at a cumulation height 50% point is 2.2-1.3μm and a particle size at accumulation height 80% point is 0.6μm or more. As fine powder alumina, one with Al2 O3 content of 96wt.% or more is pref. used.

The form of the denture bed member 20 can also easily be regulated. Since a photopolymerizing composite is irreversibly hardened, the artificial tooth bed member 20 is irreversibly hardened by irradiating the prosthetic artificial tooth precursor 10 with light to fix the artificial tooth 12 to the denture bed member 20. The photopolymerizing composite contains an unhardened or semi-hardened photopolymerizing acryl resin. The acryl resin means acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or derivatives thereof.

As for the dope, it is desirable to use such one that contains polycarbonate weldable at time of molding with sulfone polymer resin or the dental plate in a solvent which is dissoluble both methylmethacrylate and polycarbonate, or contains polysulfone in a solvent which is disoluble both methymethacrylate and polysulfone. Content for the said solvent of the polycarbonate or polysulfone is desirable to be 1-20WT% from the standpoint of reliability and operability to maintaining force of the artificial tooth.

The above-mentioned polymerizable dental material has improved photopolymerizability within a low temperature region near ordinary temperature and the resultant material has excellent storage stability, color tone, etc.
