      SOLUTION: The apparatus 20 for treating the yarn ends is designed to treat the yarn ends 7 cut from weft yarns subjected to weft insertion during the operation of the loom by connecting an exhaust port 23 installed in a recovery vessel 21 to an exhaust apparatus 11 and connecting a suction port 22 to a suction duct 4 which is a means for sucking the yarn ends installed on the side opposite to a weft insertion apparatus of the loom. In the apparatus 20, a recovery chamber 25 and a recovery chamber 26 are independently installed in the recovery vessel 21, respectively. The apparatus is provided with a partition plate 24 as a changeover means for making the exhaust port 23 connected to the exhaust apparatus 11 and the suction port 22 connected to the suction duct 4 selectively communicate with one of the recovery chambers, respectively.

By the constitution, an outflow of air jetted from the weft insertion nozzle and the auxiliary nozzle to the outside of the guide hole 13 in the front zone is suppressed and stability of flying position of weft and improvement in weft speed are achieved. A flow rate in a weft guide passage is increased while reducing an injection quantity of air from the auxiliary nozzle in the rear zone and the speed of weft is maintained or speeded up.
