    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a luminous efficiency by lengthening a discharge channel and to provide a compact fluorescent lamp without any crack or leak in a bulb.
      SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp has an exhaust tube sealed in a sealing part in the vicinity forming a connecting part of a U-shaped glass bulb without any interposition of foreign goods such as a lead wire, so that there is little residual distortion due to possibility of crushing, and there will be no cracks nor leaks at the sealing part caused by the lead wire or the like, even if head treatment is made in forming the connecting part. Since, therefore, the connecting part can be formed in the vicinity of an end part of the bulb, a discharge channel can be elongated even with the user of the same bulb, the luminous efficiency can be improved. Moreover, the connecting part with an inferior shape in appearance can be contained in a base together with the sealing part, and thus, a fluorescent lamp with improved characteristic quality and yield ratio.
