    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exchanging device useful for exchanging a hoisting machine supported on a pedestal arranged at a top portion of a hoist way, and an exchanging method using the same.
      SOLUTION: A guiding means extending downward from the pedestal arranged at the top portion of the hoist way and an elevating means are used to lower a supporting means on which the hoisting machine is placed, thereby lowering the hoisting machine from a height level same as the pedestal of the hoist way top portion to the level of a landing hall. Therefore, the hoisting machine can be hung by using a chain block mounted to a ceiling surface of the hoist way, so that hanging-out to the landing hall and hanging-in from the landing hall can be easily carried out.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation method for installing an escalator main body in a building efficiently and safely at low cost by only work on a floor of the building without requiring extension of suspension origin and an opening for suspension even if the building is an existing building and to provide a crane device used in the installation.
      SOLUTION: The crane device 10 is attached to a lower part of an intermediate part in the longitudinal direction of the escalator main body 1 which is an integrally assembled body. The escalator main body 1 is pulled and arranged at a predetermined position on a floor 5 at a lower floor of the building. The crane device 10 is fixed on the floor 5. The crane device 10 is driven and the escalator main body 1 is tilted up to a predetermined angle to align an end part on a lower floor side of the escalator main body 1 with an inner bottom face position of a pit 20 on the floor 5 in the lower floor and align an end part on an upper floor side with a position of level of a floor 33 in the upper floor. Then, an erected beam 34 is provided between the escalator main body 1 and the floor 5 in the lower floor to support load of the escalator main body 1 by the erected beam 34 and an inner bottom face of the pit 20.
