    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic device of an elevator, by means of which the shape of sheave groove of a driving sheave is always recognized during operation, the occurrence of troubles due to sheave groove wear is prevented beforehand and the amount of wear is precisely detected.SOLUTION: The diagnostic device of an elevator diagnoses a driving sheave which has on its outer circumferential part, a plurality of sheave grooves wound with a main rope and is rotationally driven by a hoisting machine, based on a shape of the sheave grooves. The diagnostic device includes: a bracket which is installed on the hoisting machine and is disposed below the driving sheave; a non-contact sensor which is attached to the bracket and detects the shape of the driving sheave groove; a display device which displays the shape of the sheave groove detected by the non-contact sensor; and a determination device which compares the shape of the sheave groove displayed on the display device with the shape of the sheave groove drawn with a reference size retained beforehand and determines whether the driving sheave is normal or defective.
