    • PURPOSE:To form firmly a powder film free from defects on the surface of a metallic substrate by coating the surface of the substrate with an alloy to form a film, keeping the substrate at a fixed temp., and irradiating laser beams on the film to melt-bond the substrate and the film together. CONSTITUTION:A self-fluxing alloy having a desired composition is sprayed on the surface of a substrate such as a steel material or a steel plate to form a film. The substrate having the formed film is kept at >=350 deg.C, and laser beams are irradiated on the film to heat the film to a temp. above the m.p. of the alloy. By this treatment, the metallic substrate and the film are melt-bonded together along the boundary. Since the irradiated part and the heated part close to the irradiated part are not rapidly cooled, the cracking of the film can be prevented. Since a hardened structure is not formed in the melt-bonded part and the heat-affected part, the toughness of the substrate is maintained.

    • PURPOSE:To restore and increase again the hardness of a thermally sprayed metallic layer which is decreased by the irradiation of a laser by subjecting the surface of a steel, etc. to a heat treatment under specific conditions after the irradiation of the laser in the stage of spraying thermally and forming the corrosion- and wear- resistant metallic film on said surface then irradiating the laser thereto to improve the adhesiveness of the thermally sprayed metallic layer. CONSTITUTION:The film is formed on the iron or steel material by spraying thermally a metal such as Cu, Ni, Co, Cr, Ti or Mo or the alloy thereof in order to improve the corrosion and wear resistance of said material. The laser is irradiated to the thermally sprayed film by which the thermally sprayed film is once melted and is secured to the iron or steel base to improve the adhesiveness of the thermally sprayed film and the iron or steel base material. The hardness of the sprayed film is decreased by the irradiation of the laser and therefore the iron or steel base is heated to >=350 deg.C to weld the film to the iron or steel base in the stage of irradiating the laser and thereafter the iron or steel material is heated to 200-700 deg.C and is air-cooled by which the intermetallic compd. and carbide are precipitated in the film and the hardness of the film is again improved.

    • PURPOSE: To recover the rolling mill lubricant from rolling mill lubricant fumes during metal rolling without causing any change of properties of fats and oils by condensing the rolling mill lubricant fumes during rolling and continuously capturing the same in a fluid state.
      CONSTITUTION: The rolling mill lubricant fumes evaporated during cold rolling of steel plates are introduced through a hood 5 and a fume guide pipe 6 by a suction blower 16 into a fume condensing tank 7, where they are cooled and condensed to liquid. The condensate flows down into an aggregating groove 9, after which it is discharged and stored into a storage pit 11 by a delivery device 10. Further, it is lifted by a pump 13 into a centrifugal separator 14, by which fat and oil components are separated and recovered. The separated and recovered fat and oil components are reflowed into a storage tank 4 and are reutilized as a rolling mill lubricant. The uncondensed gas in the tank 7 is drawn out from the tank 7 by the blower 16 and is discharged through an discharging and releasing tower 17.
