    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent laundry from colliding against a door and to inhibit vibration caused by the collision.
      SOLUTION: When the laundry in a drum is determined to be heavy and a hot-air heating course is set, preliminary water supplying processing, first cloth soaking processing, second cloth soaking processing and hot-air heating processing are sequentially started. In the preliminary water supplying processing, tap water is stored in a water receiving tub up to a preliminary water level, and the tap water is poured on the laundry from a circulating pump while the drum stands still. In the first cloth soaking processing, the tap water is poured on the laundry from the circulating pump while the drum stands still. In the second cloth soaking processing, the tap water is poured on the laundry from the circulating pump while the drum rotates. At the start of the second cloth soaking processing, a volume of the laundry is decreased by the tap water that permeates the laundry. Thereby, the vibration generated by the laundry colliding against the door can be inhibited in the second cloth soaking processing and the hot-air heating processing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate and display a more accurate remaining time when starting an operation course.SOLUTION: A washing and drying machine includes: a tub used for laundry washing or the like; warm air supply means for supplying warm air into the tub; tub temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the tub; load detection means for detecting a washing load; and control means for calculating and displaying the remaining time of an operation course on the basis of the detected temperature data detected by the tub temperature detection means and the load detected by the load detection means. The control means uses the tub temperature detection means to detect, as a current detected temperature, the temperature of the tub immediately after the start of the current operation course, and detect, as a previous detected temperature, the temperature of the tub in a state unaffected by heat from warm air before the execution of the current operation course. Then, the control means determines whether or not the current detected temperature is affected by the heat from the warm air of the previous operation course, selects the current detected temperature as the detected temperature data when determining that the current detected temperature is not affected by the heat, and selects the previous detected temperature as the detected temperature data when determining that the current detected temperature is affected by the heat.
