    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction port body for a vacuum cleaner suitable for cleaning a carpet.SOLUTION: The suction port body 11 includes a suction head 12, a connecting pipe 35, a pair of front wheels (front side support members) 76 and rear wheels (rear side support members) 77. The suction head 12 has a bottom wall. A front end section 16a2 located on the front side rather than the front edge 17a of a suction opening 17 at least out of a bottom wall front region 16a on the front side rather than the rear edge 17b of the suction opening 17 formed in the bottom wall is provided in a higher position than a bottom wall rear region 16b on the rear side rather than the rear edge 17b. The suction head 12 includes a connection part 21 having a connection tube and a bearing part at the rear part. A front end opening of the connection tube faces the longitudinal center part of the suction opening 17 from the rear side. The connecting pipe 35 is supported in a vertically turnable manner to the bearing part. The front wheels 76 abutting on the surface to be cleaned are mounted close to both sides of the front end opening of the connection tube on the front side of the bearing in the bottom wall rear region 16b. The rear wheels 77 abutting on the surface to be cleaned are mounted to the bottom wall rear region 16b behind the front wheels 76.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor brush which can effectively clean the gap narrower than the width dimension of the case body.
      SOLUTION: A connection pipe 32 can be selectively connected to either of a rear opening opened in the back side of a horizontally-long case body 31 or an upper part opening opened in the top surface side. An upper opening and the other side to a rear opening are blocked up by a shutter 33. In the case of normal cleaning, the right to left width dimension L1 of the case body 31 is used, by connecting the connection pipe 32 to the rear opening, and blocking the upper opening by shutter 33. In the case of cleaning a narrow gap, the front to back dimension L2 of the case body 31 is used, by connecting the connection pipe 32 to the upper opening, and blocking up the rear opening by the shutter 33. In each cleaning, the vacuum state is maintained by sucking the dust together the air only from a common sucking airflow duct through common lower part inlet 47, and the gap narrower than the width dimension of the case body 31 can be effectively cleaned.

      SOLUTION: A suction port 53 communicates with a rotary brush chamber 52 defined in a case body 41 and opens facing the floor surface. The rotary brush 51 having an axial direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the case body 41 is rotatably provided in the rotary brush chamber 52. The rotary brush chamber 52 is provided with an air suction port 58 communicating with the rotary brush chamber 52 and the suction side of an electric blower. A suction opening 105 is provided on the upper side of the case body 41. A communicating air passage 60 communicating with the suction opening 105 and the rotary brush chamber 52 in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the case body 41 is provided. Even when suppressing clogging of a suction opening 105 by increasing the opening area of the suction opening 105, the dust removed from the floor surface by the rotary brush 51 is less likely to be flicked out to the suction opening 105, so that the dust is reliably sucked from the suction port 58.
